Emily Squires, Secretary

I was director of Sesame Street for many years (received six Emmy awards), and produced documentaries on artist/philosopher Frederick Franck The Art of Being Human (Cine Golden Eagle, PBS), Five Masters of Meditation (Hartley Films) and others. My husband, Len Belzer, and I wrote a book titled Spiritual Places In and Around New York City (2008). I have always been concerned about where we're headed as a species. At this critical juncture in our evolution, we can either work to raise human consciousness to a new level of understanding and caring for one another and the world around us; or we can sit by and let climate change and political, economic, and social lethargy drag us down so far that we will die out, as would any other failed species. That's why I'm on the Board of Friends of the Institute of Noetic Sciences www.fions.org and the Coalition for OneVoice www.coalitionforonevoice.org working to raise the level of public discussion in New York City. I'm also proud to be a part of the Source of Synergy Foundation Board and its efforts to affect planetary awareness of the interconnectedness of all living things.
